Sterling Heights Nature Center
Summertime is the best time to get outside and enjoy all that Metro Detroit has to offer by way of Nature Centers and Playgrounds. We made our way out to the Sterling Heights Nature Center to check out their newly renovated space. WOW.. it is amazing.
The front door opens to an atrium which is set up to be an open habitat for turtles, fish and frogs. Look carefully and see if you can spot all the free-range animals in this section. In addition to the live animals, there are a couple of animals that have been stuffed. Check out our video on Facebook from the Sterling Heights Nature Center.
Here is what you can expect to see in the atrium at the Sterling Heights Nature Center, turtles
Frogs.. up close and personal.
A pond full of fish and turtles.
A seventy seat auditorium is the perfect place for a nature presentation, birthday party, school field trip or meeting.
The exhibit room provides plenty of learning opportunities for children.
Magnifying glasses and binocular for up-close viewing.
Live and mounted animals provide children with the opportunity to see animals up close.
Beyond the nature center building, guests can venture outside and walk the miles of paths that wind over and near the Clinton River.
Just over the bridge is Clinton River Park North which hosts a wonderful playground with slides, climbing elements and swings. The park also has walking paths, picnic areas and parking.
