The Reptarium in Utica – Visitor’s Guide and Photo Gallery

The Reptarium in Utica is conveniently located on the east side of Van Dyke Road, just a few blocks north of Hall Road. They have an amazing collection of about 300 reptiles (and other classes of animals) on display. During our complementary private tour, we were able to have up-close experiences with a snake, tortoise, iguana, tarantula, chameleon, and more. Our favorite was Elvis, an Asian water monitor.

The newly expanded 7,000 square foot space offers visitors the opportunity to see roughly 150 different species of animals. During public tours, guests will be able to interact with several pre-selected animals. However, if you have your heart set on having an up-close encounter with a special animal, simply ask one of the staff members for assistance, they will accommodate you as long as the animals can come out of their enclosure.

In addition to general admission self tours, visitors can schedule private tours, birthday parties, field trips, and educational classes. Guests can also get a snake massage, fish foot spa, feed a variety of animals, or get a special souvenir photo with a reptile.

The Reptarium Hours

The Reptarium is open to the public Friday and Saturday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. You may also schedule a private tour. Currently, due to Covid19, general admission is limited, and by appointment only. Visitors must purchase tickets in advance online.
