1. 🆕 Los Trompos at Beacon Park in Detroit

Detroit is bringing back Los Trompos to Beacon Park. Visitors can enjoy eight three-dimensional, larger-than-life “spinning tops”. The sculptures were created by Héctor Esrawe together with Ignacio Cadena. Inspired by a traditional Mexican toy, these vibrant spinning sculptures encourage guests to work together to spin them all at once. Enjoy the beautiful, interactive, cultural celebration at Beacon Park from April 27th until May 23rd.

2. 🆕 Kopper Toddler Playground in Canton

Kopper Park in Canton officially opened on October 16th, 2020. This 1/2 acre park features a toddler playground. However future plans include installation of synthetic turf hills. The site also includes a Little Free Library and picnic tables.

3. Ford Heritage Park in Ypsilanti

Ford Heritage Park in Ypsilanti Township is a 106 acre park with baseball/softball complex, soccer fields, paved nature trails, playground and picnic facilities. The accessible playground area at Ford Heritage Park spans over 10,000 square feet. The area includes a large play structure with plenty of space for children to climb, slide, jump and play. Children can enjoy several slides as well as many different places to climb and test their abilities. The spider web, roller slide and also the sway fun boat are popular fixtures at this park.

4. 🆕 Palmer Park Playground in Detroit

Palmer Park in Detroit, a 296 acre nature oasis, is home to a plethora of recreational opportunities including a new playground and splash pad. On August 10th, 2019 the new playground at Palmer Park Detroit was constructed. It took just six hours as well as more than 200 volunteers to complete the task. The playground consists of a large play structure as well as a smaller toddler structure. The large structure has several climbing elements and also a very tall slide. Also within the playground is a zip line, spinning ball and other fun elements. Children can enjoy two traditional swings as well as two toddler swings. Finally, parents can sit back and relax on one of the many benches around the playground.

5. Avondale Park in Rochester Hills

Avondale Park in Rochester Hills is a 18.5 acre park with sports fields, a playground, tot-lot and picnic facilities. The Avondale Playground hosts two main structures. The first is similar to an obstacle course with many different items to swing and climb across. There are no slides in this section. Visitors can use a normal swing as well as an ada swing in this section. The toddler play area features a smaller structure with a few climbing elements as well as slides. In addition to the structure, this area hosts swings and a sand excavator. There are also a few baby bucket swings in this section.

6. Starr Jaycee Park Playground in Royal Oak

Starr-Jaycee park in Royal Oak is home to many sport fields, a playground, pavilion, restrooms, and Great Lakes Live Steamers train rides. The playground at Starr-Jaycee Park in Royal Oak offers two play areas for the children. In addition to the large play structure, the park hosts a toddler play structure, standing zipline, four horse spring and other play structures. Swings include two baby bucket swings together with a tire swing set. Finally visitors can enjoy playing in the beach sand. Pails and shovels are kept on site via donations.

7. Butcher Playground in Warren

Butcher Park in Warren offers two amazing structures as well as swings. The park also offers a pavilion, picnic tables, grills, ball fields, sand volleyball in addition to restrooms. The playground at Butcher Park is one of the largest structures in the city. This extensive structure contains plenty of slides and climbing elements to keep the kids busy for hours. In addition to the large play structure, there is a smaller maze elements for children of all ages. If your child enjoys swings, they will be happy to see several different types at this park. They include a tire swing, traditional swings, an ADA swing and a baby bucket swing. The park also provides plenty of bench and picnic table seating around the play area.

8. 🆕 Miller Park in Warren

Miller Park is located at 14500 Masonic. A 12 acre neighborhood park that hosts several sports fields as well as a picnic shelter and play area. The playground has two main structures. The larger structure is designed for children five through twelve, while the smaller toddler structure is for children ages two to five. On the larger equipment there is a lot to explore including several climbing elements and a very unique slide. The merry go round is a bit more difficult to spin compared to the one at Hartsig Park. However, the kids still really enjoyed it.

9. 🆕 Hartsig Park in Warren

Hartsig Park at 2701 Martin in Warren. An 11 acre park that featured a brand new playground, sports, as well as picnicking facilities. Children of all ages will enjoy the brand new play structure at Hartsig Park in Warren. The playground features a two story twisted slide, and also several climbing structures. It is a relatively small structure, however the new design brings some newer elements. The park is home to several swings as well as a merry go round. The swings include four traditional swings, two baby bucket swings and also a newer style, a generation swing seat. The generation swing seat allows for a infant or toddler to sit on one side while facing an older child or an adult on the other seat. We love this new interactive element that allows adults to join in on the playground fun.

10. 🆕 Gilbert Willis Park in Wixom

Gilbert Willis Park in Wixom features an amazing play structure. The 46-acre property also hosts sports and picnicking facilities. Children of all ages will enjoy the amazing play structure at Gilbert Willis Park in Wixom. The main structure features two three-story slides as well as a rock wall, several climbing elements and monkey bars. Children will also enjoy several smaller slides, tunnels, and ramps. A nearby balance course features several stepping stones, balance beam and tunnel. There is also a Ten-Spin merry go round, a rocking boat, and several swings. The swings include traditional, baby buckets, ADA and a face-to face swing.
