Looking for a new park to try out? Try County Farm Park in Ann Arbor!
Located in Ann Arbor, off 23, it is a quick drive and a great place to spend a day!
playground is a designed to look like a farm and has five distinct play
areas. The entire play area has a padded ground designed to look like
farm fields and a river, complete with real boulders to climb on.
The large play structure has a lot to offer. It has numerous slides, a
rock wall, different types of ladders and many tunnels and bridges to
explore. The most popular parts this day were the rope for climbing up
and down and the smaller zip line!
There is a separate (but
still okay for bigger kids) area with four farm animals to rock on, a
barn to play in and a large tractor structure to explore. This area has
soft grass for safety.
There are four swings, two
of which are handicapped accessible.
And there’s still more!
Off to one side are galvanized feed troughs filled with sand and a whole
sand “beach” area for play. (It appears there are also tubs for water
play, although these weren’t filled on our visit.).
There is also a rope climbing structure that is a blast!
Near the playground is a Children’s Discovery Garden just getting ready for the season.
There are shaded areas and benches to sit and watch your kiddos
play. There are real bathrooms and a large pavilion for eating. The
playground is part of a nature area, so there are wooded areas and
trails to explore.
County Farm Park is open from 8:00 AM until
dusk. Use 2230 Platt Road as the address when accessing directions.
You do pass through a retail area with lots of options to grab some food
or a coffee!
We are already planning our next trip!
