If you are looking for a great way to celebrate the fourth of July, then you won’t want to miss the City of Farmington Hills 50th anniversary. They will celebrate their historic five decades with the theme “Reflecting on our past to shine greater light on our future.” The official City of Farmington Hills 50th Anniversary party begins at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Founders Sports Park, located at 35500 W. Eight Mile Road. Fireworks start at approximately 10 p.m.
The 50th Anniversary party will feature food and beverage vendors including Kona Ice slushes, and a beer tent offering “Cheers to 50 Years” specially brewed for the event and served in a souvenir cup in a partnership with the Farmington Brewing Company. Other event sponsors include Versiti Blood Center of Michigan, and NFL Flag Football. Family fun includes a climbing tower, footbowl and cornhole, bouncers (bring socks or buy a pair at the site), a history center with information and artifacts, and live music from the band Fifty Amp Fuse.
“This event represents our City coming together to celebrate everything that’s great about Farmington Hills,” said City Manager Gary Mekjian. “We hope to see our community members including families and business owners join in the fun.”
