  • Description: SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium invites guests to its Fish or Treat event to take part in several Halloween-themed activities —including half off the price of admission for everyone dressed in a costume every day until Halloween. Families can search for ghoulish goodies in the touch pool and see incredible underwater pumpkin carvings in the ocean tank. Underwater pumpkin carvings will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and 22 and at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Join Downtown Berkley and the Berkley DDA, 5-9 p.m., Thursday, October 17, for its first-ever a night to celebrate and pamper Mom and the ladies and gents who support her. Moms of children, expectant moms, maybe-in-the-future moms, pet moms, work moms and those who just like to wear mom jeans are all welcome (no judgment here). Aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, friends, co-workers, too! Attendees will be treated to an evening of fun, friends, special MOMents, MOMosas as well as – A Q & A session with Amber Louchart and the team from Metro Detroit Mommy -Mini massages -Decadent dessert samples from some of Berkley’s finest bakeries and restaurants -How-to jewelry making sessions -Meet and Greet with a Metro Detroit Mommy Blogger -Flavorful Wine Tasting -MOMentus discounts and giveaways at select retailers and restaurants throughout downtown Berkley -Complimentary shuttle rides between the 12 Mile Rd. and Coolidge shopping districts There is also a chance to win cool prizes donated by all the participating businesses in downtown Berkley. PLUS, one lucky Mom or a member of her squad will win the much-coveted Grand Prize. And because we know Moms Move the Mitten, we’ve partnered up with a local non-profit, Mittens for Detroit to collect new, warm, and unused mittens and gloves for children and adults in need in the Detroit-area and other underserved communities.   • Every Tuesday and Friday morning we offer a place for parents to take a breath, connect with one another, and enjoy watching their young children learn and grow through imaginative play.  There will be a 15-minute story-time at 10 am every Friday followed by unstructured playtime until noon.  Come and go as you please!
    Parents can recharge with locally roasted coffee or tea and allergy-sensitive snacks are available for the kids.  Our Drop-In & Play program is FREE to the community and the coffee and snacks are reasonably priced.

Come hang out and play Minecraft on our custom server. There will be both survival and creative areas to enjoy either with individual play or with friends. Get your own space on our server so your work will be saved for the future or play on our group server with other kids who attend this event. Play at your own level and explore all the aspects of a multi-player MineCraft experience within the safe controlled environment of The Robot Garage.

Katie is a hard workin' momma who loves to be where the people are. She has a daughter named Charlotte (almost 4 years old), a son named Silas (19 months old), and her husband's name is Jeff (married 6 years). She graduated from Madonna University with a degree in Broadcast and Cinema Arts. She shared her love and passion for journalism at 9&10 News, Northern Michigan's News Leader for 8 years as a reporter and anchor. Her family moved to Metro Detroit to be closer to family and her husband's new job. Katie is excited to write for MDM and help other mommas!
