we have one more After 6 On Kercheval scheduled for Saturday, August 27 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.  We’ll be closing with Buffy’s Mexi-Casian and Grillwich Tot Stop food trucks and “Newsmaker” for the  featured band.  We’re also going out BIG with a 40′ Ferris wheel and crowd favorite, Mobile Axe Throwing with a dunk tank by Sunny Days & Grosse Pointe Moms Club.

For the Kiddos! While we welcome painters of any age, this is recommended for ages 7 and up.

*NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED.

*PRE -REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
All guests must be registered for class prior to arrival to guarantee your registration and any special seating requests. You will receive an email confirmation if properly registered. Payment is due at the time of the reservation to guarantee your seat. If you choose not to pay online, please call our studio to make payment by phone (313 960-4793) or visit our studio in person for payment.

*WHAT TO BRING:
You are welcome to bring in light snacks and drinks (water, juice and soda) to enjoy during class. Cups are available for your use! You must provide your OWN plates and utensils for food.

*CLASS TIME:
Painting begins PROMPTLY at class start time! Please arrive about 30 minutes early to check-in, get smocked, and settle in. If you are late to the class you may not be allowed to paint and your payment will be forfeited.

*SEATING REQUESTS:
If you’re coming with others, but making reservations separately, give us your group’s name in the Special Request box. We’ll seat you together. If you make a late reservation we may not be able to seat you with your requested group. No seat changes are guaranteed at class time!

**Painting with a Twist reserves the right to cancel classes for unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified at least four (4) hours prior to class time when circumstances allow and refunds will be processed.

Welcome to a Whole New DIY Experience at our studio! Reservations or walk-ins can arrive @ 12:00pm and LAST reservations or walk-ins can arrive @ 3:00pm. The earlier you arrive allows you more time to create your masterpiece!

HOW THE CLASS WORKS:

– Make your painting selection https://www.paintingwithatwist.com/studio/detroit-downtown/diy-art-kits/ (or select once you get to the studio). Or you can simply free style!
– Make payment online or walk-in to make payment by credit card, and a artist will set up your seat and help you select your paint colors.

Recommended for ages 7 and older (but not required). No drop offs. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

PLEASE NOTE: Pop In & Paint is only for those who are comfortable with having no live instruction (video instructions only). Please bring in ear buds to watch your video or you can do without and follow the written instructions if you prefer.

October 28th – 7:00pm – Fox Theatre

With nearly 40 million YouTube subscribers and 400 million monthly viewers across its YouTube channels, the Spy Ninjas today announced they will take their detective, martial arts, and hacking skills from the screen to the stage with the all new “Spy Ninjas Live” (www.spyninjaslive.com). Featuring Chad Wild Clay and Vy Qwaint, “Spy Ninjas Live” will crisscross through scores of U.S. cities starting this fall, including a visit to the Fox Theatre on Friday, October 28 at 7 p.m. Comerica Bank is the exclusive presenting partner of the Fox Theatre.

In the live show, the Spy Ninjas have discovered the presence of a Hacker Sleeper cell across North America and must quickly reach major cities to defeat it. Dress up and join the party with “Disney Junior Live On Tour: Costume Palooza” coming to the Fox Theatre on Sunday, October 9 at 4 p.m. Comerica Bank is the exclusive presenting partner of the Fox Theatre.

]The all-new show features the first appearance of characters from Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends in addition to Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Doc McStuffins, the Puppy Dog Pals and Alice from Disney Junior’s newest hit series Alice’s Wonderland Bakery, live on stage. The immersive, interactive concert experience includes singing, dancing, acrobatics and 3D special effects. It will feature favorite songs from hit Disney Junior series, as well as new original music. In “Disney Junior Live On Tour: Costume Palooza,” Mickey, Minnie and their pals are getting ready to throw a huge costume party but mysterious weather keeps interrupting the fun. Can Team Spidey help save the Costume Palooza? 

The show is brought to you by the creators of the two-time Pollstar nominated “Disney Junior Dance Party On Tour” which sold over 350,000 tickets. The live show is written and directed by Amy Tinkham and produced by Jonathan Shank of Terrapin Station Entertainment.

Union Corners Cemetery Tour: Odd Deaths & Unique Markers
Join us:
Saturday October 1 from 6:00pm – twilight
Sunday October 2 at 3:00pm – 4:30pm

Learn some fascinating underground histories at Union Corners cemetery in Troy. Explore a few odd demises, including pals in life and death, suicide by streetcar, a murder on the farm, and more. Examine unique grave markers that are made of white metal, disappearing marble, and/or written in German. We’ll locate the burying place of a Troy resident who “was a handsome girl before she lost her mind” and hear some intriguing 1908 burial stories.

This rain or shine tour lasts about 90 minutes, requires some standing and walking over uneven ground. Appropriate for ages 7 and up.

Cheddar’s Summer Splash:

Join Cheddar the Mouse for a summertime party with beach games, crafts, and treats. Cheddar suggests wearing casual clothes and bringing a towel just in case you get a little wet. Troy Historical Society – Troy, MI

Saturday November 12 at 7:00pm

On November 10, 1975, the freighter S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald was caught in a terrible storm and sank in Lake Superior. Twenty-nine men perished. The story was immortalized in a song by Gordon Lightfoot.  Join us as we revisit this tragedy using narration, dramatic reading, and sound effects. Ages 14 & up. Includes coffee, tea, and dessert.

Curious and Macabre Lantern Tour
Friday October 28 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm

See the Village in a new light! This guided walk features some of our most curious and sometimes deadly artifacts, phantom readings, quirky incidents from Troy history, and even a few apparitious moments.

Learn about a plant known as “dead man’s finger,” as well as parasitic and poisonous plants you’ll find in Michigan. This macabre tour wouldn’t be complete without a look at our creepiest dolls, lethal Victorian baby bottle, and deadly wallpaper.

Appropriate for ages 15 and up. Please note that portions of this tour include climbing steep stairs to a floor with no elevator access. If you need an accommodation, please let us know!
