The Northville Symphony of Lights

The Northville Symphony of Lights (formerly Livonia Lights) will start this year on December 1st. The free, family event features 125,000 lights that dance to the beat of the music.  This year, the event will be held at Northville Christian School, about 1 mile west of 6 Mile / 275 (near Livonia) in the back of the building.

Celebration of Light at Troy Historic Village

The Troy Historic Village is open to the public year-round and offers guests self-guided tours. They also offer a variety of seasonal exhibits throughout the year. At the present time, they are hosting the Celebration of Light exhibit. The indoor/outdoor exhibit explores a variety of traditions and decorations centered around the winter season. Guests will see the beautiful displays and listen to stories that will brighten up the shortest days of the year.

Winter at Valade Celebration

If you are looking for some outdoor winter fun this weekend then check out The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy’s family-friendly “Winter at Valade” celebration. The event will feature ice sculptures, live local music, hands-on activities and make-and-take crafts, as well as marshmallow roasting, giant outdoor fireplaces, and food and drink. The December 18-20 celebration is free and the first of four this season at Robert C. Valade Park that feature expanded activities in addition to those taking place every weekend through February 28.

Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo

Your family will enjoy this stroll through the lighted pathways at the Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo. More than five million LED lights will illuminate trees and buildings as wells as more than 280 sculptures throughout the front section of the Zoo.

Holiday Nights at Greenfield Village

Get in the Christmas mood by strolling the lantern-lit streets of Greenfield Village in Dearborn, MI.  Voted a top ten family holiday destination by USA Today as well as Reader’s Digest, Holiday Nights is sure to leave you in the holiday spirit. Guests can learn how traditions have evolved to those we still celebrate today. You may also ride on the carousel, listen to musicians, or even watch a cooking demonstration inside a historic kitchen.

Glenlore Trails: Aurora in Commerce Township

In December, the 1/2 mile Glenlore Trails will be reimagined again, this time with a winter theme, Aurora. We can’t wait to see what they have in store. Then again, whatever it is, I’m sure it will be amazing!!

Magic Of Lights™ at DTE Energy Music Theatre

The Magic of Lights is a spectacular 1.5-mile drive-through holiday lights display featuring various holiday-themed light displays using the latest LED technology and digital animations, including the all-new drive-through Blizzard Tunnel as well as returning favorites including 12 Days of Christmas, Winter Wonderland, and The Night Before Christmas. Families and friends will experience the thrill of Magic of Lights from the comfort and safety of their own cars as they weave through its course.

Magic of Lights will open each day at 5 p.m. and run through 10 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday, and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Some exclusions may apply.

Big Bright Light Show in Downtown Rochester

Over 1.5 million lights on display during the 2019 Big Bright Light Show in Downtown Rochester. The family holiday event will take place on Main Street beginning South Bridge and continue until University Drive.

Wayne County Lightfest

The Wayne County Lightfest’s magical 4.5-mile drive-through holiday light display is a tradition for families all over Metro Detroit. There are new displays this year together with 45 other animated themed displays.

The Lightfest is open Wednesday – Sunday from Thursday, November 18 until Friday, December 31, 2021 (closed December 25) from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. The Lightfest is closed Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Christmas at Crossroads Holiday Magic
