Brief History of Buddy’s Pizza Detroit
If you are a Detroit Style pizza lover, then you probably already know that Buddy’s Pizza is the birthplace of the Detroit’s original square pizza. They used a steel auto pan to create what we all know and love today, the Detroit Style Pizza. The forged-steel pans, borrowed from local auto plants, produced a very light and crisp crust.

While the first Buddy’s Pizza restaurant was at Six mile and Conant street, on Detroit’s eastside, the newer Downtown location provides convenient walkable access to many downtown attractions.
