Updated 2/2/21. If you live in the Downriver area, then you won’t want to miss a visit to Civic Center Park this winter. This Wayne County sledding hill is a hotspot once the snow falls! The Woodhaven Sledding Hill is the place to be. Check out some of our other favorite sledding hills in Metro Detroit.
Woodhaven Sledding Hill
The “Woodhaven Sledding Hill” as the in-the-know metro Detroit natives call it is located at 23101 Hall Road, Woodhaven MI 48183. The hill is located within the Civic Center Park. The park is just south of West Road and west of I-75. Follow Hall Road South of West Road and the park will be on the left.
The sledding hill is a mid-sized range hill. Great for intermediate level sledders due to it’s steepness. For those looking for more of a thrill, we recommend either Civic Center Park in Madison Heights or Beverly Park in Beverly Hills. If you are looking for a bunny hill, then Valade Park in Detroit is a great place to play.
Children and adults can join in the fun as there are many levels of hills to try. One drawback is that there is no designed return path to the top. And while there are restrooms at the park, they are not within close proximity to the hill.
Grab your boots, hats, gloves and don’t forget to wrap your feet in plastic bags for extra waterproofing! Bring your favorite sled, snowboard or garbage can lid and test your skills at the Woodhaven Sledding Hill!
Other Winter Fun at Civic Center Park in Woodhaven
In addition to the amazing sledding hill, there is plenty of space to play. Other winter park amenities include an ice skating rink, hockey rink, fitness trails, and restrooms (hours vary). In the summer guests can enjoy a splash pad, playground, sports, a skate park, and dog run. Also, there are local fast food restaurants with restroom facilities and hot chocolate and coffee nearby!
