2024 Waterford Oaks Wave Pool Hours

The waterpark will be open as follows:

  • June 8-9: Noon-5 p.m.
  • June 10-14: Closed
  • June 15-16: Noon-5 p.m.
  • June 17-Aug. 18: Noon-5 p.m. (Thursdays-Sundays)
  • Closed Mondays-Wednesdays
  • Aug. 19-23: Closed
  • Aug. 24-Labor Day, Sept. 2: Noon-5 p.m. (Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, based on staff availability)

Tropical Wave Pool at Waterford Oaks

At the heart of Waterford Oaks is a 450,000-gallon tropical wave pool. This heated pool maintains a comfortable 80 degrees, making it enjoyable even on cooler days. The pool features palm trees and bubbler fountains, creating a relaxing tropical atmosphere. With a zero-depth entry, it offers barrier-free access and is ideal for families with young children. The maximum depth reaches 7 feet, 8 inches, allowing for varied water experiences. Guests can enjoy the waves, which run in cycles of 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off. Free innertubes are available for those who want to float on the waves.

The Big Bucket

Children will delight in the water playground known as The Big Bucket, which boasts over 30 interactive activities. One of the main attractions is the giant bucket that dumps 300 gallons of water, ensuring endless fun. The play area has a zero-depth entry and a maximum depth of 18 inches, making it safe and enjoyable for younger kids. Children must be 56 inches tall or shorter to use this area.

Amenities at Waterford Wave Pool

This facility offers plenty of amenities to enhance your visit. There are tables and lounge chairs available for guests to relax and enjoy the summer sun. The park also features a bathhouse with showers and lockers for convenience. Additionally, there are two picnic shelters available for rent, perfect for family gatherings or parties. Please note that the park is smoke and alcohol-free, and glass containers are not permitted.

Safety First

Safety is a top priority. The Oakland County Parks (OCP) has received high marks for safety from the Jeff Ellis and Associates International Lifeguard Training Program. The park’s staff undergoes extensive training to ensure they provide the highest level of risk management and safety to all guests.

Waterford Wave Pool Ticket Information

Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets online at OaklandCountyParks.com up to three days prior to their visit. Tickets can also be purchased on-site during regular hours. Checking ticket availability before arriving is recommended, as many days sell out in advance. Children ages 0-11 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Ticket Prices:
    • $15 regular rate
    • $12 Oakland County resident rate (Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays)
    • $10 for everyone on Thursdays and Fridays
    • Children ages 0-1 are always free with paid adult admission
