The Playgrounds

If you’re visiting Addison Oaks with kids, you’ll be happy to know there are two playground areas, making it easy to find a spot for play no matter where you are in the park.

Playground Areas

1. Campground Playground
Located within the campground, this playground is perfect for families staying overnight. It’s conveniently placed so kids can play while parents relax at their campsite.

2. Day-Use Playground
Near the main park and picnic areas, this playground is ideal for day visitors and is easy to access during a quick trip to the park.

The first playground area is located within the Campground. It is between campsites 132 and 50. This smaller structure covers about 900 square feet. It includes a couple of slides as well as several climbing elements.

Park Hours

Addison Oaks County Park is open year-round, but hours vary slightly by season:

  • Camping season (spring–fall): 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM
  • Late fall–winter: 8:00 AM – 30 minutes after sunset
  • Addison Oaks East (trail area): 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset 

This is important because a lot of older blog posts just say “dawn to dusk,” but Oakland County actually uses more specific seasonal hours.

  • Campground season: Typically May 1 through mid-October (Oct 14, 2026)
  • Check-in: 3:00 PM
  • Check-out: 1:00 PM 

Admission / Park Pass

Addison Oaks is part of the Oakland County Parks system, so you’ll need a vehicle permit for entry:

  • Daily pass:
    • ~$5 for Oakland County residents
    • ~$12 for non-residents
  • Annual pass:
    • ~$30 for residents
    • ~$48 for non-residents 

Camping, rentals, and certain activities have additional fees.
