Little Humans Art Co. is about to celebrate their first birthday in February of 2020. This amazing traveling art studio was created by Nick and Alex Fugedi for their three children. Their mission is to provide families with a process-based learning environment that inspires creativity and a respect for the people and world around them. The company hosts art classes, live music circles, art workshops & pop-ups for children (and their caregivers) of all ages. Last month we visited a class (free of charge) so we could share our experience with you. Our free class took place at Honey: Space for Moms + Moms-To-Be in Ferndale.
Art & Music Classes
The Art + Music Tot + Caregiver class was so much fun. During the 45 minute session, children can explore a variety of materials and potential art supplies. The company provides non-toxic supplies and focuses on the use of recycled and natural materials. The process-based classes have no specific end product in mind. This allows students to explore their environment and experiment with the materials at their own pace and in their own way.
During the class time, children develop their fine motor skills while exploring their creativity, imagination and socializing with their peers. Youngsters are also able to participate in a live music circle, which helps to develop rhythm, memorization and language skills.
Little Humans Art Co. provides its guests with art smocks. However, children (and caregivers) will get messy. It is best for participants to wear clothing that can get messy as well.
