Leslie Science and Nature Center in Ann Arbor offers visitors 50 acres to explore. Visitors can explore the nature trails as well as the raptor enclosures and critter house. They also offer a wide variety of outreach programs for all ages.

Location:
The independently owned nature center is located at 1831 Traver Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The park is located on the north side of Ann Arbor, right next to Leslie Park Golf Course.
Hours
Leslie Nature Center administrative offices is open Monday through Friday from 8 am until 4 pm.
The grounds, trails, as well as the raptor enclosures are open to the public year round from dawn until dusk.
However, the Critter House is open to the public on select days. more info

Black Pond Woods Trails
The trails at the nature center are open from dawn until dusk. Visitors can explore and see a wide variety of different plants an animals. The dirt trail has gentle slopes that can get slippery, therefore it is recommended that you wear good hiking shoes during your visit.
The large loop trail is one mile which will take you through the whole park, including Black Pond. The site also offers a half loop as well as a sensing nature trail. Families can also enjoy the nature play area.
Birds of Prey and Raptor Enclosures
The Leslie Science and Nature Center is home to several raptors that are housed outdoors. Guests can visit these amazing birds of prey daily from dawn until dusk. Due to injuries, these birds are unable to survive on their own in the wild. Therefore, they serve as avian ambassadors to help educate both on-site as well as off site visits all over Metro Detroit.
Leslie Nature Center Amenities
Leslie Science and Nature Center is a peaceful place to go on a nature walk. During your visit you will have the opportunity to see many different types of wildlife and vegetation, native to Michigan lands. It is important to note that there are no public restrooms. However, if you visit during business hours, a restroom is available in the main office. Also, during the summer months a portable toilet is located near the north end of the parking lot.
Finally, if you visit during the winter months you can bring your sled. The hills behind the Leslie House are perfect for a day of fun.
