Indian Creek Zoo Lambertville, Mi
Last week we had an amazing time at the Indian Creek Zoo in Lambertville, Michigan. The girls had a blast walking around this 40-acre outdoor facility and also feeding/visiting the many animals they have on site. Some of the mammals they have on site include capybaras, tayras, rhesus macaques, kangaroos, wolves as well as a zedonk. The farm is also home to several farm animals such as goats, sheep, pigs and peacocks. Bird lovers can enjoy a bird house with a macaw, rosella, hornbills and more. Finally the zoo is home to several reptiles such as a chameleon, red tailed boa, sulcata tortoise, alligators and also bearded dragons. And so many more….. See the full list of animals on their website.
One of the things that makes this zoo special is the ability to get close and pet and or feed many of the animals. Stop by the front desk and pick up a cup or bucket of carrots before you head out. Be sure to look for the signs that designate which animals can be fed, and which cannot.
Another great feature is that this zoo is completely manageable in a few hours. The 40+ acres is easy to explore and kept the interest of my three girls for a few hours.
