The library’s journey began with the dedication of the Keego-Cass Women’s Club, who started a small library in one of their clubhouse rooms. By 1937, the demand for more books as well as longer hours led to the library receiving township funding. In 1938, the community voted to support its maintenance. A permanent library board was established in 1939. However, the library moved to various locations before finding its current home on Walnut Lake Road.

The library’s current main branch is located at located at 4600 Walnut Lake Rd, West Bloomfield Township, MI 48323. It has undergone significant expansion and modernization. Open seven days a week, it offers extensive hours to accommodate the busy schedules of its patrons. The library’s facilities include a large Youth area, a Young Adult space, a computer lab, and an Information Commons with state-of-the-art technology.

The library’s commitment to technological advancement was evident as early as 1994 when it began offering Internet access. Today, it continues to provide cutting-edge resources, including a diverse eBook collection and interactive multimedia tools for children.
