The Franklin Cider Mill, located near Franklin, Michigan opened in 1837 as a gristmill owned by Col. Peter Van Every. The Mill is located at 7450 Franklin Rd, in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Their cider season opens Labor day weekend and usually remains open until the first weekend after Thanksgiving.

They press and bottle their cider on-site! Each side of the press can hold up to sixty bushels of apples.
The donuts sold at Franklin Cider Mill are made by an old German recipe brought to this country many years ago. And the cider is made from Michigan apples. It is NOT filtered, NOT pasteurized, and does NOT contain any form of preservative. It is a pure fruit juice and MUST be kept refrigerated (if you don’t drink it all right away)
There is a nice little stream where you can enjoy your fresh treats. You may also choose to feed the ducks (although they didn’t seem very interested the day we attended… I think they get a ton of food).
If you head out to popular Michigan Cider Mill, be sure to bring cash, as plastic is not accepted…. although they do have an ATM should you forget (with a nice little fee attached).
Overall, we had a nice time. The donuts and cider were a perfect way to enjoy our fall afternoon.
