Think Outside the Basket Creative Easter Ideas

Easter is not only a celebrated religious holiday,  it’s also been known as a time for chocolate, candy, jelly beans and Easter basket treats.

Trust me, I am not against chocolate or candy, but you want to be careful and not overdo it, especially for the kids. With a little creativity, you can come up with some healthy holiday traditions.

Think outside of the box with fun gifts or better yet active treats that don’t involve chocolate or candy for the Easter basket. Here are two creative ideas:

  1. A kid-friendly gardening basket. Avoid the traditional basket and use a brand new planting pot that includes some gardening tools and seeds to plant flowers, herbs or other produce. Not only is this unique, but it is also fun and can teach your children about gardening. For our tips on getting started with an easy DIY window garden, check out this blog post.
  2. A cooking pot. Another alternative to an actual basket, could be a cooking pot or pan or a colander with some fun ingredients for a favorite recipe. Not only is this useful, but gets kids interested and involved in the healthy cooking and eating process.

This spring, think outside of the box with fun gifts or better yet active treats that don’t involve chocolate or candy for the Easter basket. Here are a few other ideas:
