Martin Road Park is located in Ferndale Michigan. Lot parking is available at 1615 East Lewiston Avenue, at the Detroit Curling Club, which sits on the property. The 32-acre park offers sports fields, play structures, in-line rink, a sledding hill, and more.
Martin Road Park Sports Fields
This park hosts several sports fields. Guests can enjoy basketball, soccer, in-line skating as well as softball during their visit. Walking trails are also available.
Picnic and Playground Fun
The park is a great space to spend the day, with concessions, restrooms (limited availability), grills, picnic tables as well as pavilions. The park is also home to two play structures, in addition to several swings. Swings include traditional, ada, as well as baby bucket swings. the swings can all be found near the red play structure.
The Sledding Hill at Martin Road Park
In the winter, the park is also a popular spot for sledding. The smaller hill provides a medium sized height compared to other hills in the area. Therefore, it’s a great space for intermediate sledders. There is a designated return path up with concrete steps on the back side of the hill. The hill steep enough to get a bit of speed, and we found the ground to be rather smooth and free of bumps.
Other Amenities
In addition to the sports fields, playgrounds and sledding hill, the park is home to a spacious community garden and a Little Free Library. Both are near the Lewiston Avenue entrance.

The playground is available for use from dawn until dusk.
