About Indian Creek Zoo in Lambertville, Michigan
Indian Creek Zoo is a 40 acre outdoor zoo and working farm in Lambertville, Michigan. Paths are easy to navigate, so families can see a lot in a short visit. Expect classic barnyard moments along with animals you do not see at every small zoo.
You can meet giraffes, capybaras, kangaroos, wallabies, lemurs, sloths, otters, wolves, camels, alpacas, zedonks, deer, goats, sheep, pigs, and miniature donkeys. Bird lovers will spot peacocks on the grounds and colorful species inside aviaries, including macaws and hornbills. Reptile fans can look for alligators, large tortoises like sulcatas, snakes such as red tailed boas, bearded dragons, and chameleons. Exhibits are close enough for great photos, and many areas offer supervised feeding opportunities with purchased feed cups.
Because the zoo spans 40 acres, it stays interesting without overwhelming younger kids. Strollers work well on most paths. Plan for a few hours, bring water and hand wipes, and check the day’s encounter schedule before you arrive. If you want extra face time with a favorite species, reserve an animal encounter and build the rest of your day around that time slot.

Animal Encounters
SGet closer than a fence-line. Indian Creek Zoo’s animal encounters put small groups face to face with sloths, lemurs, capybaras, otters, wolves, and giraffes, guided by keepers who share care routines, conservation notes, and safe handling tips. Sessions typically include a short talk, Q&A, and a few minutes for photos or feeding when appropriate. Because space is limited, advance reservations are required and age minimums apply. Plan to arrive 10 minutes early, wear closed-toe shoes, and expect the schedule or pricing to change seasonally. If someone in your party needs accommodations, note it at booking so staff can set you up for an easy, stress-free experience.
Sloth Encounter: Learn about sloth care, take photos, touch and feed a sloth. Reservation required.
Lemur & Red Ruffed Encounters: Small-group learning with photo time by appointment.
Wolf Encounter: Guided educational session for older kids and teens.
Capybara & Otter Encounters: Fan favorites that book out on weekends.

We had an amazing time at the Indian Creek Zoo in Lambertville, Michigan. The girls had a blast walking around this 40-acre outdoor facility and also feeding/visiting the many animals they have on site. Some of the mammals they have on site include capybaras, tayras, rhesus macaques, kangaroos, wolves as well as a zedonk. The farm is also home to several farm animals such as goats, sheep, pigs and peacocks. Bird lovers can enjoy a bird house with a macaw, rosella, hornbills and more. Finally, the zoo is home to several reptiles such as a chameleon, red tailed boa, sulcata tortoise, alligators and also bearded dragons. And so many more…..
