If your family loves the sun, then Hidden Springs Beach at Independence Oaks County Park is great place to cool off in the summer. The park offers several playgrounds, pavilions, volleyball, horseshoe pits, 12 miles of nature trails, sensory garden as well as an amphitheater and more on 1,286 acres.
Independence Oaks many different areas for their guests to enjoy including Beach Cove, Hidden Springs Beach, Lake Point, Lakeside View, Moraine Knoll, Pine Grove, Trailside, Twin Chimney, Amphitheater, Sensory Garden, as well as the Wint Nature Center.
Hidden Springs Beach at Independence Oaks
Hidden Springs Beach offers a scenic sandy beach on a 1.7-acre lake with 300 feet of beach coastline. The swimming area is roped off so as to limited the maximum depth to four feet, giving swimmers at least 18,000 square feet of swimming space. It is important to realize that there is no lifeguard at this beach. Therefore, it is left to the visitors to keep a close eye on their swimmers. Visitors can also enjoy playing sand volleyball or playing sports on the grassy field. Picnic tables, a small gazebo (with a grill), restrooms as well as vending concessions are within walking distance of the beach. The nearby Beach Cove area offers a playground, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts, baseball diamonds as well as the Beach Cove Pavilion. One paved parking lot services both areas and is about 300 feet from the beach.
