As we approach the Class Of 2022 High School Senior portrait booking season, local Master Portrait Artist Marla Michele Must of Enchanted Photography shares some wisdom and considerations for parents who are about to embark on their child’s senior year.
1. Get ready for a whirlwind year.
Senior year is busy and full of excitement. Staying organized and planning ahead will take the edge off of the stress. Your child’s senior portraits are another way to celebrate your senior’s journey and accomplishments.
2. Your senior represented as art.
There is a difference between senior pictures and senior artistry. Make sure you find a photographer who can show you an extensive gallery with a variety of work and whose work appeals to you. At the end of the day, you will be trusting your photographer to capture the essence and authenticity of your senior.
3. Consider the season.
Give some thought about the time of year that you would like your senior to be photographed in.
4. Hobbies, sports, interests.
Part of capturing your senior authentically is by including elements of his/her life into our portrait sessions. Dance, musical instruments, and pets are an important part of our sessions.
5. Location. Location. Location.
Along with the season, another consideration is location. Does your senior prefer a nature, urban, or suburban setting, and how might that fit into the type of clothing he/she will want to wear?
6. When to book.
If you have a current high school junior the time to book is now! Senior sessions typically begin late Spring through late Autumn.
