The Deluxe Cabins at KOA in Port Huron

Last week GoRVing and Port Huron KOA invited my family and me to enjoy a couple of days of family time and fun at the campgrounds free of charge so that we could share our experience with you.  We stayed in one of the beautiful Deluxe Cabins at the KOA in Port Huron.  The Port Huron KOA resort is located at 5111 Lapeer Road in Kimball, Michigan, right off of I-94.  Our drive time was about 1 hour to this location.

The Deluxe Cabins are more like staying in a hotel room, rather than camping.  Visitors can enjoy comfortable beds, private bathrooms, kitchenette, air conditioning, heat and so much more.  Our cabin had a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom, a set of bunk beds, along with a full-sized futon, allowing for up to six people in the space. Other models vary, our neighbors had an amazing loft space to sleep more guests.

The kitchen is stocked with plates, cutlery, cups, mugs, pot, pans and more.  There is also a toaster, microwave, and Kurig machine.  Visitors just need to bring their own food.

The full private bathroom is what you would expect in a hotel, a tub and shower combo, and hairdryer in each restroom along with plenty of towels and washcloths for your stay.

Outside of our cabin was a beautiful deck patio with a gliding swing and gas grill.  We also had a picnic table and shared fire pit in a community space.

While there was a TV with Cable access and wifi, we didn’t have much time to use it.  Our days were filled with swimming, playing volleyball, chatting with friends around the campfire, and eating lots of smores.  We found so many fun things to do at the campground, we had very little time for screens.
