Yesterday we took advantage of the great weather and enjoyed a trip to Red Oaks Waterpark in Madison Heights. I remember their grand opening weekend. Our high school band played music for the ceremony, then we all got a ticket for a free admission. I am pretty sure I went back that day to enjoy the park. It has always been one of my favorite summer destinations.
They offer a zero depth wave pool, triple flume slides, a lazy river and a great area for younger children. Rosa and I spent the most of our day in the Soak Station. This area offers many slides, spraying water, levers to pull, wheels to turn and a lot more. The water reaches a maximum depth of 18 inches, so Rosa wore her life jacket while playing in this section. They also offer a small spray pad which is great for smaller children.
The entrance has been moved from it’s previous location which allows for quicker entry and better parking. They have also added a lot more picnic tables and pavilions. There are usually plenty of chairs unless you go on a super busy day. The overall cleanliness of the park is acceptable, but the bathrooms seem to become more and more neglected throughout the day (make sure you wear your shoes).
The waterpark offers locker rentals, decent concessions, showers, dryers, life jackets (for younger guests) and plenty of picnic tables (arrive early to get one).
We always have a ton of fun enjoying the warm water fun at Red Oaks. We hope you do too!!!
