The City of Farmington Hills invites everyone to enjoy the Detroit Youth Choir (DYC) when they make a special appearance at The Hawk Mainstage, located at 29995 W. Twelve Mile Road. Performances will run at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 9; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, and 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023.
In their performances at The Hawk, the Detroit Youth Choir will present the hit Broadway show Once on This Island, which features Calypso-inspired music that tells the tale of a girl who finds love in a world of prejudice.
The DYC was featured on NBC’s America’s Got Talent (AGT) earlier this year and also in 2019, when they finished in second place. The DYC performed in the AGT All Stars spinoff series and was the subject of a recent Disney+ documentary that followed artistic director Anthony White as the group performed at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan.
Tickets for the shows are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. A $2 processing fee will be applied to each ticket purchased. For details, visit https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=175814
