My friends took my family and me to Long Family Orchard in Commerce Township. This is a nice orchard with many things to do with the family.
They have a cider mill with hot donuts, cider and apples. For my family, one of the best things about this place is that the donuts are safe for my son to eat. They do not use any products containing peanuts or nuts and they also have the list of ingredients posted on the wall. There is no candy present or
apples with caramel and nuts. The mill will be open until November 23rd.
There is a large section called the Farm Yard and Corn Maze. Unfortunately ,this is closed for the season, but worth planning a trip for next fall. The cost is $8.00 per person, but for $2.00 more you can buy a season pass. You are given a wrist band and can come and go as you please all day long. There is a lot to do in this area. They have three little houses for the kids to play in, an upside down house and two school houses with old fashioned desks inside.
There is a bounce house and a gigantic pumpkin pillow for all ages to jump and bounce on. Remember to wear socks. This area has a playground with a
large pirate ship and castle, a giant slide that fits one to two people, a tube slide, pedal carts, and a big sand area where the kids can get dirty. There is also an area with many goats walking around on what looked like an obstacle course. After all of this fun, my family and I never made it to the corn maze,
but I am sure it would have been a good time.
then I would recommend walking out to the car.
