So, along with showing you around Kalahari a bit, I’m going to tell you a few secrets to save you money and make your visit more enjoyable!
Kalahari Waterpark Sandusky Ohio
My first and foremost recommendation is never ever to pay full price for a room. I’ve seen prices go up over $600 a night which I’ve never spent. The amount you should aim for 4 people is about $150 a night. If you get lucky the $150 a night will include breakfast, arcade money, and tickets to the outdoor zoo. So, sign up for Kalahari’s email list and watch their Facebook page for weekly deals!
Always, ask for an upgrade. Most of the time I have been upgraded for free or at a super low price. We had a fantastic room! I had 4 kids with my husband and me. We had three queen beds and a door that shut so we could be separated from the kids. I loved this room! Guess, what? There was no additional charge!
I honestly would recommend Kalahari for ages 3 and up. There is something to do at just about every age. If you have small children, there is a baby area for your child to splash around in. I have learned that it’s best to have two adults with you if you have multiple children. Especially, when the water park is busy. You can never watch your child too closely around water.
The rides are anywhere from mild to extreme. Kalahari recommends your child stays with a parent unless they’re over the age of 15. I let my almost fifteen-year-old have the freedom to run around the water park because she had a friend with her. I recommend always pick a meeting spot as soon as you enter the water park.
If you need a break from the water park, there are plenty of things to do. My favorite place to visit is the Candy Hut which is located in the central lobby. Yes, it’s like a candy heaven!
The lower level of Kalahari has an arcade, a bowling alley, and laser tag just to mention a few things.
You will find that most people slip into pajamas to roam around in after they finish in the water. Even though the water park is a warm temperature the rest of the water park tends to be cool. So, slip into some comfy clothes and check out the bowling alley!
There are multiple places to eat at Kalahari. They range from sit down restaurants to grab and go. The prices as expected tend to be higher priced in the water park. Kalahari Sandusky is in a busy area loaded with tons of places to eat. If you’re looking to save a buck, I recommend leaving the resort and heading down the street.
