Family Friendly St. Patrick’s Day Fun!

My favorite holiday is the day the Leprechaun comes to share shenanigans! As a mom, I’ve found some new ways to indulge in family St. Patrick’s day fun so I just have to share!

Celebrate early on March 10th, 2019 at the “Catch a Leprechaun Party” at Heritage Park Petting Farm in Taylor! Join the Woodland Troll Friend Poppi and the gang for two hours of fun at the Petting Farm! The party is set to start at 11 a.m. with lunch. Themed crafts, face painting, balloons, storytelling, magic, songs, and dance are also included in the $15 price of admission! Tickets are cash only and must be purchased in person at the Petting Farm prior to the event.

The Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Corktown Parade is also Sunday, March 10th! I have to say I grew up with my parents and family friends taking me along for the fun in Corktown! My family parks on the street near the old Tiger Stadium (near Bucharest Grill) and sets up chairs early to watch the fun. The parade starts at 1 pm and the earlier you get down to Corktown the better.  Another parade day option is the family fun zone !  Sponsored by the United Irish Societies, the Family Fun Zone is the only place you can view the parade from grandstands in a reserved, family friendly area and enjoy live music or Irish step lessons!  Located at the beginning of the parade route on the northeast corner of Michigan Avenue & 6th Street. The Family Fun Zone is opened from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm.  Tickets are $12.00 per person or a Family Pack of $60.00 (6 tickets).

If your family is looking to stay home, the luck o’ the Irish can still be yours! Have some fun building leprechaun traps with this book as your guide! Later, you can improve your leprechaun catching skills by reading How to Catch a Leprechaun !
Whether your family hits the town or enjoys at- home festivities, the Irish tales of leprechauns and trying an Irish jig are fun ways to play! May the luck o’ the Irish be with you on St. Patty’s Day and always!
