Wave Pool Activities

“We are looking forward to a wonderfully busy season,” Red Oaks County Park Supervisor Matt Pardy said. “Visitors love the variety of activities available at the waterpark and often spend the entire day splashing around in the wave pool or at SplashTown, a children’s splash pad with 52 interactive water features, including a water play climber with slides and a dumping bucket.”

Adventure seekers will enjoy the triple-flume waterslide while those just looking to relax in the summer sun can do so on the provided lounge chairs or by grabbing a tube and floating on the River Ride, a 990-foot-long moving river.

Waterford Oaks Waterpark

At Waterford Oaks Wave Pool, guests will be delighted by the tropical wave pool that features palm trees and bubbler fountains near the shore. A children’s water playground provides more than 30 interactive activities for hours of outdoor entertainment.

“Even if the weather is a bit on the chilly side, come on out because the wave pool is heated,” Waterford Oaks County Park Supervisor Mike Boyd said.

Safety is always a priority at the waterpark and wave pool. Oakland County Parks (OCP) has received high marks for safety from the Jeff Ellis and Associates International Lifeguard Training Program, which licenses lifeguards to work at OCP facilities. OCP waterparks have consistently demonstrated that they exceed industry standards in risk management and epitomize aquatic excellence.

River Walk at Red Oaks Waterpark

The popular River Walk program at Red Oaks Waterpark will be open four days a week this year, Mondays-Thursdays from June 19-Aug. 17. This is a fitness program where participants walk with or against the current for exercise. A program change this year is that walkers will need to pick a specific night of the week they wish to walk so staff can monitor capacity closely. Those who wish to walk more than one day a week will need to purchase multiple punch cards. Additional information and registration details can be found at OaklandCountyParks.com.
