Edsel and Elenor Ford House Grounds and Gardens
If you are looking for a beautiful outdoor venue then check out The Ford House. This is the perfect space to burn off a bit of extra energy. This property not only allows guests to enjoy time outdoors but also provides a plethora of learning opportunities.
Science and Nature
The grounds and gardens provide naturalists of all ages the opportunity to see a wide variety of flora and fauna. During your visit, you can identify several plants, flowers, as well as trees. Bird watchers can also enjoy trying to spot and identify several different native Michigan birds.
Art, Design & History
In addition to the beautiful designs incorporated into the gardens and landscaping, explore art and design at the Ford House. During your visit, you can learn about the architectural design of the buildings. Talk with your children about the artists as well as the style of the sculptures. You can even learn about the history of the estate, the designers or artists featured on the grounds.
Edsel and Elenor Ford House Location, Hours, and Admission
The estate is located at 1100 Lake Shore Road in Grosse Pointe Shores. The property lies on Lake St. Claire.
At the present time, the Ford House is open daily from 8 am until dusk. However, Monday is limited to member admission only.
Ground passes for adults and children ages 6-12 are $5. Children 5 and under are free.
SPECIAL through November 30, admission for children 12 and under is free, thanks to the generosity of the Ford Motor Company Fund. Click here for more info
