July 15 – Student Opportunity to Perform High School Music Night at Heritage Park Amphitheater
Do you know of any budding musicians who are looking for a chance to perform? Please pass along the information and application link to students who may like to be part of this year’s event. High School Music Night is an annual tradition for the City of Farmington Hills as part of the Stars in the Park Free Summer Concert Series in Heritage Park, sponsored by Mercedes Benz Financial Services.
Set aside as a unique opportunity for young vocalists and instrumental musicians to broaden their experience and expose their work to new audiences, the Cultural Arts Division of Farmington Hills has featured this high school concert for several years in conjunction with School of Rock Farmington. Microphones and amplifiers are provided for the event and each act must to able to plug into the sound system. Several members of the School of Rock House Band will also play in varied ensembles featuring acoustic, psychedelic rock, pop and emo indie punk.
Each act will perform approximately 8-15 minutes at the outdoor amphitheater at Heritage Park beginning at 7 p.m. Performers do not need to live in Farmington Hills to participate. In case of inclement weather, concerts will be relocated to The Hawk Community Center at 29995 Twelve Mile Road in Farmington Hills. Questions may be directed to the Cultural Arts Division at 248-473-1857.
High school-aged musicians and bands interested in performing at this event are asked to fill out the application and submit a sample of their work (via online link like Youtube).
