The New Jungle Java – Clinton Township
Previously we visited Jungle Java in Farmington Hills (see review here). It was such a great place for Rosa to play. So when I saw that they had opened a new location in Clinton Township I was very excited to check it out.
Jungle Java is located at the end of Enterprise Drive which is off of Hall Road just east of Heydenreich. It is in an old industrial building. The main entrance and ample parking is around the back.
I took Rosa during Spring Break. Since Jungle Java had just opened, I’m sure it added to the large crowd that day. There were so many families there that Rosa was intimidated and we spent a lot of time in the toddler section.
The Clinton Township Jungle Java is very similar to the Farmington Hills location in that they both have the same overall theme, a large play structure for both older and younger children and a coffee/snack bar for parents and children.
But the Clinton Township location has a few features that the Farmington Hills location does not. First they have a very large basket ball court with a ton of basketballs. This play area is sectioned off so the balls stay contained. The second feature is a laser area which parents are required to pay an extra fee if their child wants to play there.
The toddler area was quite large. There was a climbing structure with two slides, a tunnel and some activities on the walls that Rosa really enjoyed. One of the parent lounges is right next to the toddler area which is convenient if the your infant/toddler needs some time to relax. One thing I would love to see is some kind of barrier by the door so the children are not able to enter or exit the area without an adult. I saw many children who were too big to be in the toddler section and too many of those children were unsupervised.
The big play structure area was amazing. So many slides, places to climb, mazes and a computerized game on the floor that reacted to the children’s movement. Rosa went up a few times to go down the slides, and ran through the mazes, but with so many children there she didn’t venture too far from me to check out the higher sections of the play structure.
I have to say I love this place. It is a great, clean, safe, fun place to take your children on a rainy day when they need to burn off some energy. Admission for children two and up is $7.50 and children under two are $3, with infants and adults receive free admission. I love the fact that there aren’t any video games to suck money out of your pocket like a nearby pizza place. Which easily makes up for the admission.
