Are you ready for some outdoor summer entertainment? We hear ya.
It’s been a long time with no fun, summer, outdoor activities and Orion.Events is ready to fill the gap. This summer, it is launching a massive entertainment lineup so you’ll never be bored.
Orion Township has teamed up with some trusted names in the entertainment business to create this online portal, Orion.Events, so you can keep tabs on all the happenings. So far, there are 55 acts across a wide expanse of genres slated to perform – and more acts will be added!
“We know we have a tremendous pent up demand for safe, outdoor entertainment of all types and we expect people to turn out at our venues this summer,” said Chris Barnett, Township Supervisor for Orion Township. “As a result, our team has seriously beefed up our concert and events schedules for 2021 with the partnership with Orion.Events. People need an outlet like this more than ever.”
The team behind the concept and website, planning and production include:
Chris Barnett, Township Supervisor, Orion Township
Aaron Whatley, Director of Parks and Recreation, Orion Township
Jennifer Vezina, Program Supervisor, Orion Township
James Jenkins, Executive Director, Orion.Events
Brian Major, Executive Producer, Orion.Events
John D. Carson, Chief Talent Officer, Orion.Events
Garrett Hoffman, Chief Creative Director, Orion.Events
The events will be at the Wildwood Amphitheater and Fire Bowl at Camp Agawam in Lake Orion, Michigan.
“This summer will definitely go down in the history books as the return of the Roaring 20s,” said Brian Major of Orion.Events. “People have been safe at home for 15 months now. They’re excited to emerge from quarantine and ready to enjoy some good entertainment in the outdoors, maybe even shake things up a bit. Our group, Orion.Events, is prepared to deliver.”
There are events for the whole family, from a Thursday night blues series to Friday comedy series to magic shows to weekend concerts and more. Tickets average about $15 per person.
The Wildwood Amphitheater is at 2700 Joslyn Court in Orion Township, on 60 acres. And just down the road is the Fire Bowl at Camp Agawam, 1301 Clarkston Rd. in Lake Orion. Both venues are centrally located and easily accessible via I-75 and expect to draw people from across the region.
