Don’t Miss LEGOLAND Florida – Photo Gallery & Visitor’s Guide

Earlier this month my family and I traveled down to Florida to visit our family for two weeks.  During our vacation, we took a day to explore LEGOLAND Florida in Winter Haven.  LEGOLAND provided our family with tickets in order to facilitate this feature article.  All opinions are my own.  Your experience may differ.

Legoland Florida

You don’t have to be a LEGO lover to enjoy a day at LEGOLAND Florida. There is something for everyone in the 150-acre amusement center that caters to the 2 to 12-year-old crowd.  Perfect for families, the park offers more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions.

In addition to the LEGOLAND amusement park, the Florida resort hosts a LEGOLAND Hotel, LEGOLAND Beach Retreat (lakefront bungalows), LEGOLAND Water Park, and botanical gardens.  A visit to LEGOLAND Florida Resort is meant to be a multi-day vacation experience.  We only spent one day at the amusement park, and really that wasn’t enough time to explore.  We only saw about 1/3 of the park in the six hours we were there.

Visitors are given the opportunity to experience rides of varying thrill levels, from the mild Grand Carousel to the wild Great LEGO Race (VR coaster) and everything in between.

LEGOLAND Florida

Our party consisted of Rosaleigh (age 9.5), Carlyn (age 6.5), Naomi (age 3.5), my husband and myself.  Rosaleigh and Carlyn are not very adventurous and would rather not experience sudden drops or movements that cause what they call “belly drops”.  So they avoided most of the more thrilling coasters and rides and opted for a more milder experience.  Some of their favorite rides were the Ford Driving School, Beetle Bounce, Merlin’s Challenge, and Aquazone Wave Racers.

However, Naomi, my hubby and I all love the top thrill rides.  The challenge was that my 3.5-year-old is just barely 40 inches tall, most coasters had height restrictions she had not met.  However, we were both excited to stumble upon The Dragon coaster which has a 40″ minimum height.  We rode the coaster three times and had so much fun.

LEGOLAND Florida also offers a 4D Movie Experience and Pirates’ Cove Water Ski Show.  The girls enjoyed the Water Ski Show, Rosaleigh even got to help Miranda and the Imperial Guards beat the Pirates.

And the girls love the meet and greet opportunity after the show.  Especially Naomi, who just loves costumed characters.

There is so much to see and explore beyond the rides and entertainment.  LEGOLAND Florida provides guests with plenty of opportunities to build with LEGO, play games, and participate in fun activities.

There are also many LEGO structures to see including MINILAND, Star Wars, and other various creations about the park.

One of the wonderful things I noticed was the park’s commitment to the earth.  You can find benches made of recycled plastic, and these impressive solar panels (pictured below).  5,225 panels not only provide shade for about 600 vehicles in the parking lot, but they also produce enough electricity to power 200 homes.

Finally, although there are many maps thoughout the park, I highly recommend that you download the official mobile app.  It will inform you of upcoming events and provide directions on how to where you want to go.
