Lakeland High School Indoor Water Park
Huron Valley Schools hosts two indoor waterparks as well as fitness centers at both Milford and Lakeland High Schools. This week we ventured out to the Lakeland High School waterpark so we could share what they have to offer with you.
This amazing community resource is located in the Lakeland High School in White Lake, Michigan. The school is located at 1630 Bogie Lake Road, south of M-59.
The indoor waterpark is identical to the Milford High School location, except in them. It includes a play structure with many interactive components that spray, zero depth entry, a two-story slide, a fun circular whirlpool for the kids, hot tub with jets (ages 16+) and plenty of room to swim. We also thought the water was slightly warmer at Lakeland.
Rosaleigh, age seven, was able to touch the bottom of the pool everywhere in the waterpark section. Carlyn was over her head at times, but thanks to swimming lessons at Aqua Tots, she was confident and had a blast. She even learned and mastered doing somersaults in the water, so now she’s ready to work on her flip turns.
Naomi had a fantastic time going down the slides, playing in the water and jumping off the edge into the water. She was able to explore a little independently in the splash area, but we were always right there.
Lakeland High School provides life jackets in many different sizes. Towel hooks and benches are throughout the area, along with two common space showers. There are also family changing rooms, gender specific locker rooms, and community locker area.
Restrooms, swimsuit spinners, lockers (bring your own lock), showers (with soap), and electrical outlets are available in the locker rooms.
The lap pool is often used for swim meets, so if you want to lap swim, you should check before you go. The lap pool depth goes well beyond five feet, so only competent swimmers should utilize the deep end of the pool.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and thought that the current price of $6 for day passes (ages three and up) was a great deal for all they have to offer. We would surely visit again if it were closer.
