Green Dot Stables in Lansing

Recently we visited our capital city, Lansing, and dropped in on Impression 5 Science Center to check out their latest exhibits, SMASH, and Ice Age.  We explored the city a bit. Green Dot Stables in Lansing graciously hosted us for lunch.  This amazing horse-themed restaurant is located at 410 South Clippert Street, not too far from the Science Center.

First, I love this space.  The Green Dot Stables in Lansing has plenty of different areas for intimate meetings or large groups.  From small booths to a large barn-themed room, you will find the perfect setting for your casual event.

Green Dot Stables Menu

If you love to sample a variety of items, you will love the menu at Green Dot Stables in Lansing.  Almost every item is $3 or less, including the libations, which include beer, wine ($4), together with horse-themed cocktails.  Our waitress recommended that we order between three and five items each (for adults).

Certainly the most awesome thing about Green Dot Stables is their wide selection of sliders.  We tried many different burgers, from the typical cheeseburger to the mystery meat, each burger was full of flavor.  There are many different options on the menu to choose from, with several vegan options available.  I especially enjoyed the Lansing Hot Chicken, while the Coney Dog was a favorite for Naomi. My sister-in-law says that the green olive burger was amazing.  She really enjoyed the deep-fried olives.

Green Dot Stables doesn’t have a children’s menu.  I recommend french fries and a traditional cheeseburger slider for those with a less adventurous palette.  And while I personally loved the side of mac & cheese, all three of my children claimed that it was too spicy.  My girls also enjoyed the soup (chicken paprikas) and dessert.

Likewise, the french fries were hot and crispy.  My favorite was the venison chili cheese fries (middle). However, the truffle & herb (bottom) fries were hard to distinguish from the regular fries in flavor.  Finally, for dessert, we tried the Corktown Smore and Fluffer Nutter.  These two delicious dessert items are served on mini hamburger buns. All in all the desserts are not nearly as amazing as the burgers.

Overall we had an amazing experience and look forward to visiting again or trying out their Detroit location.
