FREE Child Car Seat Inspections: Farminton Hills

If you have a young child still in a car seat, then chances are your car seat is not properly installed. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 60 percent of all child car seats are installed or utilized incorrectly.

The Farmington Hills Fire Department is Working to Reduce Injuries to Children with FREE Child Car Seat Inspections

  • No-cost child car seat inspections by appointment only on March 12, 2023.
  • Event aims to greatly reduce injuries to children in the event of a car accident.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nearly 60 percent of all child car seats are installed or utilized incorrectly. The City of Farmington Hills is working to change those statistics by hosting FREE child car seat inspections with nationally certified child car seat technicians from the City’s Fire Department. Child car seat inspections by appointment only will take place on Sunday, March 12 from 8 a.m. to noon at Fire Station #3 located at 29260 Grand River.

Technicians will check for proper installation and possible recalls of child car seats. Parents and caregivers will also be provided with education on how to properly install and use the child car seat. Inspections will take approximately 45 minutes or less. The event is free to the public with no residency restrictions.
