Fitness that Comes to YOU with GymGuyz Personal Training

I received compensation and a free service in exchange for this post. My opinions are my own.

I like going to the gym, but it isn’t always EASY to get up, get dressed and drive there. Some days, you want to just work out at home. I don’t always feel like I’m pushing myself when I work out in my basement gym, however.
Enter GymGuyz, a mobile personal training service that will meet you anywhere you want – even in your home. You don’t have to own a single piece of equipment either. They have a nifty red van full of mats, free weights, kettlebells and more for you to use.

GymGuyz is a franchise, and Rochester Hills mom Christina Baker owns the only franchise in Michigan right now. I met with Christina and one of her trainers Fred Hardy II to learn about GymGuyz and go through one of their workouts.
We met at a local park; however, they would have been happy to come to my home. Christina says they will travel about 30 miles from Oakland County. She opened the franchise in November.
Christina and her team offer free fitness assessments to people before they sign up. You’ll fill out forms that talk about your health, any injuries, your diet, your goals and they’ll take measurements and weigh you. Then, they design custom workouts that fit your goals or needs.
They have clients ranging in age from 11 to 82 and most clients see them for 2-3 sessions a week. So, what’s the cost? It’s about average for personal training. It’s about $50-$80 a session depending on the package you buy and group vs. individual rates.
Christina says they operate under the “Three C’s:” Convenience, creativity, and customization.
A runner herself, Christina loves health and fitness and her team all have national certifications and undergo background checks and drug screenings for safety.
Fred put me through my paces and is a very knowledgeable trainer. He knew when to push and when to back off and definitely helped me tweak my form on a few moves.

I liked having the one-on-one attention, as I normally do group fitness classes.
Christina says she likes helping her clients meet their fitness goals – especially moms. Moms have many challenges on the path to fitness (isn’t that the truth!) and she hopes GymGuyz can take out one of the hurdles, which is actually GETTING to the gym.
One thing that stuck with me, as someone who recently got back on track with a fitness routine, is that someone coming to your home means you don’t have to get over the hurdle of being embarrassed at the gym because you are overweight, out of shape and don’t know what you are doing. That was a big mental block for me personally.

If you are interested in trying out GymGuyz, you don’t have anything to lose. Your first session is free! Call Christina at 248-218-5151 and get started!
