Are you looking for something fun to do with the kids? If so, then check out The First FREE Capoeria Detroit Performance: an Interactive Kids Event at Macomb Mall.
For the first time, Capoeira Detroit will be at Macomb Mall from 4 until 5pm on June 20 in the East Court near Dick’s Sporting Goods. The Capoeira Detroit group will provide an interactive history on how Capoeira has evolved into several different art forms including, spirituality, dance, acrobatics, and music.
This event is free for those of all-ages. Guests should be prepared to take part through low-impact physical movements such as acrobats, tumbles, and dance moves aimed to encourage exercise. A portion of the entertainment includes an interactive storytelling feature regarding the history and birth of Capoeira.
“Surprisingly, many people are unaware that Capoeira is more than a form of martial arts, let alone that it is properly called Capoeira” said Elaishia Outley, Marketing Coordinator. “Capoeira has such a rich history behind it outside of the defensive aspect including the very instruments used by the orchestra.”
