SHAKE IT AND BREAK IT in Bloomfield Township

Michigan’s most beloved family musician, multi-award-winning Randy Kaplan, is set to raise the roof and celebrate the release of his new album, Shake It and Break It with a free show for kids and families at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24 at the Bloomfield Township Public Library, 1099 Lone Pine Rd., Bloomfield Township, MI.

Randy says, “Along with fan favorites and requests, I’ll be playing a bunch of songs from Shake it and Break It, which includes ‘Randyized’ versions of some of my country-blues and ragtime favorites . I’m excited to play these new songs for my hometown crowd!”

Randy Kaplan loves to interact with his audience. He encourages kid hecklers to participate fully. And his FORKS (an acronym fans themselves coined: Fans of Randy Kaplan) sing along. Oft-requested songs include “Don’t Fill Up On Chips,” “Shampoo Me,” “In a Timeout Now,” and “Hockey Puck.” He’ll most likely include those in the show as well as “Candy Man Blues,” “Shake It and Break It,” “Been Your Dog,” “Swinging on a Star,” and more from his new record.

Shake It and Break It, Randy Kaplan’s 7th not-JUST-for-kids album, is a collection of pre-WWII country-blues, ragtime, and Delta blues classics retrofitted with lyrics that sing of characters living in a zany, brainy world of nonstop, rapid-fire comedy.
