Presented by the Michigan Youth Arts Festival and the Michigan Art Education Association, the Governor’s Top 30 Traveling Student Show showcases thirty selected works produced by high school art students from across the state.
Nearly 500 works are submitted annually and are adjudicated in a series of regional and state level exhibits down to a group of 100 artworks. These pieces are featured in the Visual Art Exhibit at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival held each spring at Western Michigan Universality in Kalamazoo.
Of the one hundred finalists, jurors choose thirty of the most outstanding works to produce the traveling collection. This show tours several different venues across the state for a year, until finally going on display in the Governor’s Executive Office in the state capitol in Lansing.
