Red Oaks Nature Center Storybook Trail – Secret Learning Adventure

A local nature center has added a new feature that is receiving a lot of attention. At this time, the Red Oaks Nature Center Storybook Trail presents the story of “How to Hide a Butterfly”. Since pages of the book are presented throughout the trail it provides visitors with the opportunity to interact with the environment. Basically, the story encourages children to play a game of hide and seek with Mother Nature. In addition, they learn how insects disguise themselves to avoid predators.

During the present time, the Red Oaks Nature Center Storybook Trail features Ruth Heller’s children’s book, “How to Hide a Butterfly and Other Insects”. Pages of the book are displayed along the trail. The book gives visitors clues about how to find hidden insects while on the trail.

Previously, in winter, the Storybook Trail hosted the story – The Mitten by Jan Brett, a Ukrainian folktale about a lost mitten and the animals that make it their home.
