WATCH HISTORY COME ALIVE AT COLONIAL KENSINGTON.
• Walk through camp and visit with British, French
and American soldiers, Natives, civilians,
and tradespeople.
• Watch military drills and battles.
• Stroll Sutlers’ Row and purchase unique
hand-crafted goods.
• Be entertained by live Celtic and period music.
• Visit with, and ask questions of, the reenactors at
the camps.

Arrest – Witness historical drama as the British attempt to
arrest Mr. Franklin for sedition to the King. Impromptu roleplaying – visitors are encouraged to play along!
Battle – Gather on the edge of the playfield and watch
from a safe distance a skirmish between the British, the
Americans and allied forces of each. Listen to a ‘play by
play’ description of the maneuvers and munitions.
Benjamin Franklin – Engage with Old Ben as he
shares his philosophy and unique outlook on life and the
colonies. Dramatic presentation – Visitors are encouraged
to play along!
Cannon & Military Drills – Watch as members of the
Regiment post guards, drill and fire muskets, and exercise
the artillery. Get ready to plug your ears!
Cooking Demonstrations – During the mealtime break
from other activities, cooking and preparing of food can
be observed. Explore and have your culinary questions
answered. Sorry, no tasting!
Fashion Show – Discover how to get dressed in the 18th
century as the elements of various historical clothing items
for men, women and children are displayed and explained.
Kids’ Drill – A hands-on opportunity for your children!
Kids can handle wooden muskets and then will be taught a
military-style drill.
Musical Entertainment – Lively and enjoyable
performance of traditional songs and acoustic tunes by a
local musical group.
Opening Ceremony – Colours – Watch as the flags are
paraded before assembled troops followed by a ceremonial
firing of muskets in ranks.
Recruitment – Camp visitors be forewarned! You may
be invited to ‘take the King’s Shilling’ and join the British
army! Impromptu role-playing – visitors are encouraged to
play along!
Sutler’s Row – Be sure to shop for something unique
from an assortment of historical offerings. Stop by Friday
