Erwin Orchards and Cider Mill – South Lyon

My family and I recently visited Erwin Orchards and Cider Mill. Erwin Orchards is located in Oakland County at 61475 Silver Lake Road, South Lyon, Michigan 48178.

We attended on their customer appreciation day so there was PLENTY going on!
We started with the Corn Maze, which costs $5.00 per person. Upon completion of the Corn Maze, you get a cup of cider and a donut from the Cider Mill. Our family split up into two teams and raced each other through the maze! Very fun! My husband and I won~and I was wearing our youngest in the Moby wrap and he was pushing our eldest in our Sit and Stand stroller!

Once we finished we set off to the mill for our reward of cider and a donut. The cider was ice cold and delicious and our donuts were fresh and scrumptious! The only downside were the bees and wasps that wanted us to share the sweet goodies with them. I got stung twice, thank goodness I am not allergic!

After we were finished with our snacks it was time to venture into the orchard for some apple-picking fun. With the purchase of the you-pick apples, wagon rides around the orchard are free. We waited for the wagon near the beautiful butterfly garden. While there, we saw brightly colored monarchs gathering nectar. When the wagon arrived we were able to take our Sit and Stand stroller on the ride with us~a big plus when you are traveling with a toddler, a newborn, and all of their gear. The wagon ride is very fun and you get to enjoy the beautiful sights of the Erwin family’s farm that has been going strong for 91 years 🙂

After we filled our bag full of apples, it was just about nap time for our boys, so we had to cut our day a little shorter than we would have liked, but we look forward to returning to this orchard to pick pumpkins and experience their Halloween festivities as there were many things we did not get to do (petting farm, hay maze, trike trail, the inflatables and MORE).

Some of the goodies we brought home with us were fresh cider, caramel apples, and, of course, apples. They also sell fresh honey and donuts, which I am sure we will get next time. Everything was absolutely delicious.

We all had a wonderful time, found the farm to be very beautiful, and we definitely recommend checking them out if you are looking for a fun you-pick orchard to go to.
