DIY Spa Recipes to Help You Relax

Balancing work and personal life is stressful; from responsibilities to family time, to meetings and more, we hardly ever have a minute to ourselves. Our days are consistently overscheduled, but even with a crazy busy lifestyle, it is important to take the time to de-stress and relax whenever possible.
Many people find spa trips or pampering helpful, however, this method can get costly. These DIY spa recipes will help you turn your bathroom into a relaxing spa retreat without breaking the bank. To get started, all you need are a few ingredients from your kitchen!

Vanilla Coconut Sugar Body Scrub

This homemade sugar scrub is a great natural moisturizer and exfoliant. Sugar may not be good for your body, but it has amazing benefits when applied to skin. Here’s what you need:

Ingredients:

1/3 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together. Rub on skin in shower, massage and rinse for a super-moisturizing experience.

Moisturizing Avocado Face Mask

Healthy fats in avocados are great for moisturizing your skin. Antioxidant vitamins C and E fight free radicals that damage skin and can protect skin against UV damage from the sun. Here’s how to make this amazing mask:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup ripened avocado
1/4 cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup honey
Cucumber slices – just a couple for your eyes

Instructions:

Mix ripened avocado, plain yogurt and honey in a bowl until it turns into a uniform paste. Apply to face and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse clean. Place cucumber slices over your eyes while masking for extra relaxation. Enjoy!
