Detroit Manufacturing Systems Giving Away FREE Backpacks

DETROIT MANUFACTURING SYSTEMS GIVING AWAY FREE BACKPACKS

WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES SATURDAY, AUG. 25, FOR K-12 STUDENTS

 

WHAT:

Just in time for back to school, Detroit Manufacturing Systems and UAW Local 600 will distribute 500 medium and large backpacks filled with a variety of school supplies, depending on grade level, such as pens, pencils, pencil pouches, paper, erasers, crayons and highlighters for local schoolchildren in grades K through 12. All backpacks and supplies are completely free.

Key conditions to collect free backpacks filled with supplies:

  1. Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis to parents and children standing in line.
  2. Child must be present to collect free backpack with school supplies.
  3. One backpack per child will be distributed.
  4. No rainchecks will be given.

WHEN:

Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018

10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (or until all backpacks with supplies are given away)

WHERE:

DMS Visitor Parking Lot, 12601 Artesian Street, Bldg. A1, Detroit 48223

VISUALS:

DMS team members distributing hundreds of sturdy backpacks filled with school supplies to hundreds of parents and schoolchildren on a first-come, first-serve basis for free.
