CELEBRATE THE VILLAGE OF ROCHESTER HILLS

20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH FREE FAMILY EVENTS

CHEERS TO 20 YEARS!

The Village of Rochester Hills Shopping Center

THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2022

WHAT:

Robert B. Aikens and Associates, owners of The Village of Rochester Hills, the premier outdoor lifestyle shopping center located at the corner of Adams and Walton Boulevard, will be celebrating the center’s 20th Anniversary by hosting a day of free family-fun events at the shopping center. The event will be held on Saturday, September 24 from 12:00pm to 9:00pm. At 6:00pm The Aikens Family, Rochester Hills Mayor Bryan Barnett and members of The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce will “Cheers to 20 Years” as they celebrate with a free concert by Detroit’s premier 80’s retro multimedia experience, MEGA 80s!

Robert B. Aikens’ vision began in 1973, when the township approved the plan for Meadowbrook Mall.  This new “theme” mall included small shop retailers, cobblestone walkways, storefronts with a vintage motif, Applewhite’s Cider Mill, live entertainment, and a beloved theater with puppet shows for the community.  “Building this mall was a labor of love from my parents, Bob and Ann Aikens.  Every detail was planned.  My mother even ran the cider mill, and we all worked together to put on puppet shows for the community,” said Bruce Aikens, Vice Chairman of Robert B. Aikens & Associates. Twenty-five years later, as the era the enclosed mall began to evolve, The Aikens Family reinvented the mall, turning it into the recognized outdoor lifestyle shopping destination that it is today – a reimagined shopping, dining, and lifestyle destination with 375,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, fitness, and spa venues and gathering spaces with community events.  “The Village of Rochester Hills, as it’s now known, remains a family affair.  As we celebrate 20 years of The Village, we are proud to see the continued growth and success of the shopping center, and its part in offering a fun, beautiful shopping experience to the City of Rochester Hills and the surrounding communities. We look forward to another twenty years and continue our commitment making The Village of Rochester Hills a centerpiece of this community that all can enjoy”.
