Brunch at The Morrie

This past weekend a group of my blogger friends tried out The Morrie for brunch.  They did pay for our meals so we could bring this post to you, but as always, all opinions are my own.
The Morrie is located on Main Street in Royal Oak, just north of 6th Street.  They have their own private parking which is $5, there is also lot and street parking available within a reasonable distance. For Saturday brunch, parking is FREE.
The Morrie has a fun rock and roll themed decor. Records are used to cover one of the walls and the menu items have creative, music themed names.

Start off with a fantastic drink:

Traditional brunch libations are available, posing as the Bloody Morrie and Mimosa.  I decided to take a different turn and I tried out this lovely drink: The Sybil which is a sour drink made with White Blossom Valentine Vodka, house made sour mix and house made blueberry sorbet. with a blueberry flavor.  The White Blossom Valentine Vodka (Michigan Made) adds the flavor of grapefruit and elderflower.  But that blueberry sorbet, oh that is heavenly, melt in your mouth goodness.

Brunch: Sweet or Savory?  Yes!

So brunch.  There are so many choices.  Since I am counting calories, I steered away from the sweet side and went all in for savory.  The Prosciutto Picante “Bennie” is made with poached eggs, sourdough, arugula, tomato, and hollandaise.  I savored each and every bite.

Another brunch favorite is the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffle Stack served with roadhouse butter and maple syrup.

The Southwest Bowl looked spectacular as well, featuring scrambled eggs, tater tots, chorizo, pickled jalapeno, cilantro, tomato, Monterey Jack cheese, red onion and avocado spread.  (upper left in the image above).

We have visited The Morrie a few times since our last review and each time we have loved each and every item we ordered.  I highly recommend The Morrie for your next brunch date.  Especially on Saturday, when it isn’t as busy.
