D.Tour Spa is located inside MotorCity Casino in downtown Detroit. Having been to several spas over the years, I can say D.Tour is top of the line and has a very classy atmosphere and stylish ambiance about it. As soon as you walk in, you know you are about to be pampered!
First, you are escorted to the lockers and changing area. You are then given a plush robe to change into for your day at the spa along with sandals that are very comfy and similar to crocks.
I started off with the Urban Escape Facial, which was an amazing experience. A room similar to most spa’s, the bed was comfy, there was even a heating pad to keep you warm. Soft, relaxing music was playing to help set the mood. The facial was 50 minutes long and started off with a double cleanse, exfoliation, massage, mask and ended with collagen and elastin treatment. My favorite was the honey and bamboo scented mask. D.Tour uses Clayton Shagal products through-out the facial. My face felt rejuvenated and soft afterward.
Next it, was manicure/pedicure time. D.Tour features private rooms as well as couples private rooms for all mani/pedi’s, which is a very nice perk. It makes the experience much more pleasant than cramming into a room with ten other women around you. D.Tour uses all OPI products, including their sugar hand scrub which made my hands so soft. As you can see, I picked out a fun purple color which the technician did a perfect job on applying. I also managed to not mess it up at all after they put on the quick drying top coat and spray!
Last was the Swedish Massage. The rooms as you can see are typical as at any spa, with soft, relaxing music playing as you are getting massaged. The therapist did an excellent job at working through the tension in my back, it was just the right amount of pressure where I needed it. The massage was 50 minutes long and included back, shoulders, arms, legs, feet, and head. Afterwards, I was so relaxed and zen I did not want to get up!
In addition to the spa services, patrons also have access to the spa’s hot tub, sauna and steam room.
When you are finished you are able to help yourself to the many amenities to finish getting ready if you are on your way out to a night on the town. This includes a private shower room, sinks and make up area where you can see there is everything from tooth brushes and mouthwash to deodorant, ponytails, hair spray, curling and flat irons. There is ample space for several women to sit down and get ready at the mirrors without feeling crowded and the lighting is great.
D.Tour Spa also offers many other services like body wraps, body scrubs, couples treatments, body waxing and specific men’s services. In addition, there is a wide-array of choices when you come in for the type of facial, body wrap, body scrub or massage you’d like.
Overall, I’d love to come back and visit the spa again for a day of pampering! A day at the spa always makes a nice birthday, holiday or Mothers Day gift and D.Tour does offer gift cards.
