4 Ways to Boost Your Workout Routine

Working out is a great way to improve your health, but it can be frustrating when you’ve been working out for months and haven’t seen any significant changes in the way you feel or look. Fortunately, with a few tips, you can boost your fitness routine to help you get the results you want.

Stop eating less

Many folks who are just starting out in their fitness routine will begin counting calories and cutting back on the food they love in an effort to lose weight. But cutting calories can actually keep you from losing weight in the first place. Why? Because your body interprets your calorie intake as you living in an environment where you’re happy and healthy.

When you significantly drop the number of calories you’re taking in, your body interprets this drop as you being in danger. Your body goes into survival mode to keep you from starving and holds onto the calories it already has for dear life.

That said, if you want to boost your workout routine, you need to stop eating less. Instead, replace not-so-healthy food with foods that are rich in protein. A high-calorie intake where most of those calories are protein means that any weight you gain is because of muscle growth.

Stretch regularly

It’s no wonder why 36 million Americans practice yoga. Stretching is an essential part of your workout routine. It helps keep your muscles flexible and strong so you have a complete range of motion in your joints while you’re working out. Without proper stretching, your muscles can shorten and become tight, ending your workout session early because it hurts too much to move. Make sure to stretch before and after your workouts and even on your rest days to keep your body flexible.

Use CBD oil after your workout

CBD oil is popular in the wellness industry, especially among athletes. This is because CBD, which is an extract from the cannabis plant, can reduce inflammation. After a hard workout, it’s important to rest and ice your muscles to reduce inflammation and promote healing. CBD oil can help to support your muscle recovery.

Just make sure to keep an eye on the type of CBD oil you’re using. While no CBD oil contains over 0.3% THC, trace amounts of THC could potentially cause you to fail a drug test at your workplace. In certain states like Missouri where under 35 grams of marijuana is considered a misdemeanor offense, even a misunderstanding can be mortifying. In these cases, consider using broad-spectrum CBD oil or CBD oil isolate, which offer all the benefits of CBD but have no THC present.

Have fun with your routine

Studies show that adults who do more than seven hours of physical activity a week have a longer life expectancy. Of course, it can be challenging just to get in the regular recommended 30 minutes of physical activity per day. One of the best ways to make the most out of your workout routine and to ensure you stick with it is to find a routine that’s fun. If you love to dance, taking a dance class multiple times a week alongside other types of fitness can keep you motivated to stay moving.

Working out is important for your health and wellbeing. By following the tips above, you can help take your fitness regimen to the next level.
